I’ve lived in Pueblo for over 10 years and have had 5 kids to raise and entertain here. If you and your family are looking for things to do in Pueblo with kids, you have absolutely come to the right place. This city offers a treasure trove of activities that will engage kids of multiple ages as well as parents. Let’s go through some entertaining things to do in Pueblo with your little explorers in tow.

Things to Do in Pueblo with Kids

The Rides at City Park

Since 1955, The Rides at City Park have been bringing squeels of delight to kids and parents. Located in Pueblo City Park, there are rides for both young children and those of all ages including a 1911 historic carousel, miniature train and roller coaster. There is no admission fee and tickets to ride are still only 25¢. They even selling wristbands that provide unlimited access to all rides! This is a place to watch your kids enjoy the fun of an amusement park without the long lines or long walks and. A true memory making activity.

Pueblo Zoo

Right across from the rides, you can find the Pueblo Zoo. It is open year round and home to more than 420 animals of 140 species. From hilarous otters to adorable diving penguins, the zoo can be a fun short visit or an all day affair. Whileplanning your visit, make sure to check out the events for the day to catch some cool wildlife showings as well as extra experiences like Boo at the Zoo. If you’re looking for more than just your typical zoo visit, you can also book birthday parties and behind the scenes adventures!

Buell Children’s Museum

Want something to do indoors when it’s a little too hot to be outside? You should definitely check out the Buell Children’s Museum! With a varitety of exhibits and things to touch and play with, there is plenty to do any day of the year. This 12,000 square-foot, two-level facility offers innovative, hands-on exhibits where children can spend a morning or all day exploring. It’s a welcoming environment for kids and kids-at-heart to seek out adventure and make new discoveries. This is the perfect family-friendly discovery venue. It’s definitly near the top of my list for fun things to do in Pueblo with kids. Check out the tickets here!

Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center – River Campus

The Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center is a multi-campus nature preserve and educational center. The River Campus is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and is an oasis within the city. Take a stroll with the kids and explore the banks of the river or the grassy fields and trees. If you’re up for more of an adventure, load up the family bikes and get peddling. With miles of smoothly paved paths that are part of the American Bicycle Trail System, you can go for as long as you like enjoying the sunshine and all that nature has to offer.

Riverwalk

In the heart of Pueblo, you can find the mile-long paved walkway running along the Arkansas River. It offers great places to eat, shop, and take a walk while exploring. My favorite part would be pedaling around on the giant duck pedal boats. You can also hop on one of the 25min guided history cruises and relax while learning more about the city.  With art to enjoy along the way and beautiful landscaped spaces to rest on, it’s a fun afternoon to spend with the whole family.
